I care for my dad who recently is having some incontinence. The weird thing is he is only wet at his lower back/upper backside. Lots of changing but he is getting a nasty rash. We have tried depends without luck because the padding isn’t high enough in the back. Any advice would be appreciated.
Oh one more thing, if he has daytime incontinence using the toilet at regular intervals, even if he doesn't feel the urge to go, can help with that.
Or if he would not leave it alone you could try the incontinence underwear but with an incontinence pad placed at the back of the brief rather than the front. Or as odd as it sounds try putting them on backwards. The more absorbent part would then be to the back and may help absorb more.
For the rash. When you put a barrier cream on put a VERY thin bit on and pat it on rather than rub it on. A thin layer is easier to remove when cleaning him.
